South Peak and Loon Mountain Resorts have a variety of terrain to mountain bike or hike through the blaze of color. Don’t get too distracted by the color and fall off your bike!

Loon’s 9 miles of downhill mountain bike trails provide a satisfying experience for both beginners and seasoned riders with various freeride, technical, and cross-country trails.

J. E. Henry Trail
1-mile family-friendly trail begins at the entrance of South Peak Resort and runs adjacent to the Pemi river. This leisurely route is lined with beautiful wildflowers and provides access to the Pemi River. Dog friendly on leash.

South Peak Escape Route
2.3 mile moderately challenging loop trail great for walking, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing, and is open year-round.

East Ridge Trail
2.3 Mile circular trail near Lincoln, New Hampshire. Generally considered an easy route.

Serendipity Loop Trail
This easy 2.3 Mile loop trail near Lincoln, NH, is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking.


Wading in the crystal clear pools and gently rushing waters of the Pemigewasset River on a warm day is one of South Peak’s hidden gems. You can access the river from the J. Henry Trail at the beginning of Crooked Mountain Road. If it’s not a day for swimming, have a picnic on the sloping granite boulders that rise up from the river bed and watch the swift current whirl past.
