Loon Mountain Resort opens South Peak, kicking off the ski season at South Peak Resort

Nothing signals the start of winter like the lifts spinning at South Peak on Loon Mountain Resort, and this season is especially exciting. The South Peak area isn’t just another trail; it’s your entry point into a growing mountain lifestyle destination that blends world-class skiing with slopeside living and top-notch social spaces. The expanded terrain and lifts put you right where the action is, nestled into Loon’s famed White Mountain landscape and right at South Peak Resort.

Right off the mountain, you’ll find The Mills Marketplace, a vibrant walkable hub of shops and eateries that has quickly become the heart of the South Peak scene. With free parking, close access to lifts and trails, and a lively atmosphere year-round, The Mills Marketplace is everything you need right after you hang up your skis.

Basecamp Brewing is the Après Ski Spot This Season

If there’s one place in The Mills Marketplace that’s catching everyone’s attention this winter, it’s Basecamp Brewing. Formerly One Love Brewery, Basecamp underwent a full rebrand to elevate not just its name, but the whole après ski experience for the White Mountains.

Live Music, Delivered Three Times a Week

Starting the Saturday after Christmas, Basecamp kicks off a live music schedule aimed squarely at après ski lovers and night-owls alike. With music three times a week and two sessions every Saturday, there’s always an opportunity to stop in after a day on the mountain, whether for a quick drink or a relaxed evening with friends. Discover the music schedule here.

An après-inspired menu is also on the horizon, adding to the experience. Designed with skiers and riders in mind, the upcoming menu will feature comforting, shareable options alongside elevated pub fare that pairs well with Basecamp’s house-brewed beers. It’s an easy place to unwind, refuel, and ease into the evening.

South Peak Resort: Steps from the Slopes and The Mills Marketplace

The opening of South Peak at Loon Mountain Resort further strengthens South Peak Resort’s position as an ideal home base for winter in the White Mountains. With improved access to Loon’s trail network and lifts, guests staying at South Peak Resort are closer than ever to the mountain, making first tracks and easy returns part of the daily routine.

Just as important is what happens off the slopes. The proximity to The Mills Marketplace means dining, après, and gathering spaces are only a short walk away. From casual bites and local shops to live music and craft beer at Basecamp Brewing, everything is within reach, no car required.

Together, mountain access and walkable amenities create a seamless experience that defines South Peak Resort this season. Whether the day starts on the lifts or winds down at The Mills, South Peak Resort offers a setting where skiing, dining, and time well spent come together naturally.
