Loon Announces Installation of Pulse Gondola

South Peak Resort, in partnership with RiverWalk Resort and Loon Mountain Resort, announced the upcoming installation of The Gateway Gondola, a new gondola lift over the Pemi River connecting Loon’s new South Peak Timbertown Quad chair lift to Riverwalk, the shops and restaurants at Mills Marketplace and Lincoln’s Main Street.
The new lift’s installation is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2025 and is projected to open during the winter season of 2025/26.
“Providing more convenient access for guests is something we continue to focus on. This
lift has been long dreamt of and would not be possible without collaboration with RiverWalk and South Peak resorts.” says Brian Norton, Loon Mountain Resort’s president and general manager.
A pulse gondola is a lift with enclosed individual cabins configured in groups. As a group approaches the station, the haul rope decelerates to allow for easy loading and unloading.
Designed by Doppelmayr, the new Pulse Gondola will cover nearly 1300 feet in total distance and feature twelve Omega IV cabins. The fully enclosed cabins will transport riders east and west over the Pemi River, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows for scenic
views every season.
The gondola’s west lift terminal will be on RiverWalk’s grounds, and the east terminal will be at Loon’s South Peak Escape Route Parking Lot B.
This Gateway Gondola is an anchor point for South Peak Resort’s long-term vision to develop a resort village at the base of South Peak, offering shopping, dining, entertainment, and more.
“This is a keystone project for us. Partnering with Loon and RiverWalk on this lift demonstrates our collective commitment to expanding the offerings in this great town,” said Mark Bogosian, South Peak’s Developer
